Here’s the completed video from the Simple Motor Workshop that Jim Garvey and I held at Neighborhood Bike Works as an exercise in kinetic design for the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby. The video was shot and edited by Jim.

As part of my residency at 40th Street AIR, I am teaching a kinetic sculpture class at Neighborhood Bike Works. Today we made simple motors using batteries, magnets, and copper wire. It was a good exercise in balance and functional design.
